I have had a passion for music since been a little girl (not grown in inches much though) haha.
My father was a singer in the clubs for years throughout my childhood so I have a very varied knowledge of music.
The main genre’s that I enjoy most are: (Bare with me there’s a few)
R&B, Urban, Hip Hop, Soul, Reggae, Dancehall, Jungle Lovers Rock, House, Garage & Vocal Baseline.
I love entertaining and I get so much pleasure in seeing the crowd having an amazing time when I’m on the decks! I could literally mix music all day every day!
Back in 2014, I had to take a year off work due to being a little poorly. This is when I bought my first controller, Mac book, wires, etc. One of my good friends has DJ’d all his life and he showed me the basics. My son Tom also DJ’d from being young, he said to me ‘Mum, turn your crossfader off and use your up’s and downs, take out the base, count your beats per minute’s blah blah blah ‘ I remember thinking OMG I’m never going to get my head around this!
Then all of a sudden it felt so natural. My mixing improved. I grew confident. My son Tom opened a club so I became one of the resident DJs there for 3 years. Then other work came rolling in & now I have to turn work down as I can’t fit all the gigs in.
By day I am an Operations Manager for the NHS.
Come the weekend I hit the clubs and spin the tunes!
