Rudy Ranx Good Times Roadshow

RUDY-RANX

In 1980, Joey & Norman’s Good Times sound system were one of the first sound systems ever to own & introduce the now coveted Technics turntables to carnival. This enabled the young Rudy to hone his DJing skills and master the nascent art of mixing & scratching – being one of the first UK DJs ever to do so. Since those early days, he now presents an R&B/Hip-hop show on Hotstream.com & Reggaeology on Saturday night on www.ukrootsfm.co.uk.

From the mid 1980’s he’s played some of the UK’s legendary nightclubs, including the infamous Wag (Soho), Ministry of Sound, the now defunct Hippodrome, Sound, The Basement & quite literally, every major venue that has existed in London.

He has also compiled & mixed 3 R’n’B/Hip-Hop & Dancehall albums for the UK based Maximum Sounds for both the Japanese & French market, which have all been Top 10 sellers. Rudy has performed successful DJ tours of Europe, the US and the Caribbean. Of late, Rudy has become a permanent fixture at Sir Norman Jay MBE Good Times parties. His sets are always very well received at all of his club nights & at the annual Notting Hill Carnival.

Travelling quite extensively, he has played on successful trips DJ’ing for corporate companies such as, Hilton, Nintendo, Buena Vista Films, GAP, G-Star and has been personally asked to DJ at film premieres for the likes of Denzel Washington & Samuel L Jackson as well as being a regular at the St Lucia Jazz Festival, Barbados Lime & ‘DE-JAM’ Festival in Antigua.

Justin Timberlake’s last UK concert was also ‘home’ to Rudy to spin his tunes for the artist & his entourage.

April 2011 saw Rudy ‘starring’ for the 1st time at the ‘Soul In The Algarve’ courtesy of Soul Network (UK) with trips also planned for Cuba, Atlanta and Thailand early next year (2012).

As well as coming under the ‘The Most Wanted Talent’ agency banner, Jenny McKenzie of the world renowned AEG, who own the 02 Arena (London) has requested Rudy to host his DJ’ing talents at INDIGO2 with pre & post-concert parties including : Cameo, Teena Marie, Freddy Jackson, Teddy Riley, Faith Evans, Mary J Blige just to name a few with a whole load more lined up for the forthcoming year.

2013 saw Rudy embark & join forces with the Angolan/UK outfit Da Banda which took him to perform for the 1st time at the annual ‘I Luv Kuduro’ festival in Luanda playing to crowds of 14,000.

He was then invited to perform at the IMS (International Music Summit) in Ibiza

With Da Banda highlighting & showcasing a diverse mix of Kuduro, Afrobeats & Deep House sets alongside other Angolan DJs & heavyweight household names such as Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim & Actor/DJ Idris Elba.

In june of 2013, Rudy also performed on behalf of the UK based ‘Grown & Sexy’ Troupe in the Caribbean island of Antigua.

Such was his performance that he has been booked to perform for them again in 2014.

He also was the host DJ for the Kevin Hart Weekender which took place at the Wembley SSE last year & also did DJ at a host of select parties for the comedian in London throughout.

Not only does he specialize in Soul, Reggae & House music. He is also known amongst his peers as the ‘Best All Round’ DJ. Playing everything from Rock through to Pop, Salsa to Kizomba, Rock n Roll to Easy Listening. His attendance is requested every year for various companies throughout the UK for their Annual Christmas Parties/Functions as well as playing extensively at many a private Wedding or Birthday Party..

Cool, calm & very musically connected, his musical range is as diverse as you could ever imagine. A master of all genres, this is what sets Rudy apart from the others. At any given time, place, venue or part of the world, no matter the crowd, they WILL be entertained.
